I can't remember what I was so worried about...

  1. HA-HAAAA! Yes! i heard her interview on NBL radio the other day and greatly enjoy her songs, style and message. She has a new play coming out soon. Thanks for linking to this, Gail - nothing like gallows humor (the last laugh, as it were).

  2. A perfect 10! I'd add it to the Earth Fail song list, but I can't remember the password. But that's alright, it's gonna be OK!

  3. Here's one that's sure to become a repeat many times over in the coming years:

    1. Thanks Tom, I was saving that for a tree post - notice, that there actually was very little wind. The cars showed no evidence of being buffeted, and the trees that didn't fall weren't swaying. It's a perfect example of how people intuit high winds or even tornados despite no evidence, simply because they can't imagine why else the trees might crash over.

    1. That's so funny, Gail!! All sarcasm and seriousness aside, I am perpetually dumbfounded by the cognitive dissonance exhibited by so many allegedly educated, intelligent "humans" who proclaim one absurdity or another and at the same time declare evidence to the contrary! Of course, to some (me!), cognitive dissonance is summed up by a single word... STUPID! Contrary to what is taught, CONSISTENCY from thought to word to action, requires MORE attention, discipline and mindfulness than I have witnessed from the vast majority of "people" it has been my profound displeasure at ever having encountered, online or in person. There are many(?!) people who are loving and caring but are abject morons. There are many(?!) people who are intelligent and clever but are abjectly narcissistic. Neither qualifies as an ideal "human" but both exemplify why and how the current ultimate species DESERVES extinction! Perhaps it is true that intelligence is a FATAL characteristic!

    2. I say jokingly that doomers are mutants - but there may be some truth in it. Humans are so hard-wired for optimism bias, and so unable to follow trends to their obvious conclusions, and so wont to believe in fairy tales, that the few Cassandras who can perceive the harsh reality, especially when it comes to impending catastrophe, might just be missing some more common neural trait. Or else we're clinically depressed and lacking sufficient dopamine.

    3. I do not consider myself either a "doomer" or a "mutant" but I can easily see how others may apply either or both descriptors to me. I have not nor will not take offense by either but do prefer the latter as I've found I really do not fit or feel affiliation with any conclave, group, "race" or sect of the species known as "human." (Or any other species on this rock!) While I know my blood is red and I am anatomically anthropomorphic and I put my pants on one leg at a time, I've found very few "women" I can tolerate and substantially fewer "men."
