Thank you, Gail. This was very tough to take. I watched it to the end though, weeping throughout. As killing Mother said recently describing a somewhat different experience:

It was important to witness though.
Yes, tsisageya, it is important to understand the collateral damage society is willing to accept in order that a privileged few can consume unimpeded. A tiny minority is hoarding and wasting the vast majority of goods and energy. Unimaginably horrible consequences from accidents like this Chernobyl and the BP oil spill, deforestation and cancers, are all hidden costs we pay to perpetuate our industrial civilization.
ReplyDeleteIt makes you wonder how bad it has to get for people to understand that a few very powerful interests are enriching themselves while destroying our only home. We could have switched to clean sources of energy decades ago, and didn't, because the obscene profits aren't there. We have been systematically deceived.
It IS a terrible thing watch.
