Yay me, I (sort of) figured out how to add text and sound to a video! It's a bit over a half hour, so don't say I didn't warn you...a mash of my very first (and hopefully not last) ride on a hot air balloon (it was FANTASTIC!) and my very first interview on the radio! Make sure to notice the awkward attempts made and then swiftly abandoned by my fellow travelers to enthuse about the scenery, which unfortunately, is currently considerably less than glorious, and poised to become even less so.
Keep in mind...the colors should be as vivid as in these two photos, which were taken from a New York service that leads a variety of adventure tours - with their autumn foliage dates ranging from October 30 through November 5...because that's when the trees should be at their finest.

Hi Gail - the wife and I made our usual fall trip up to the Finger Lakes last week and saw what you've been writing about with our own eyes. The vibrant colors we saw the first time we visited there a decade ago are no longer in evidence. It is sad, because that is such an incredibly beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work!
Wow! Susan andI just had a chance to view this. It was breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do to raise awareness, Gail. You've got the world's best blog on tree decline.
Now we need to get President Obama to come clean on climate change, as noted at www.gwenet.org, and www.facebook.com/climateaddress.
With thanks, to Benjamin the Donkey who composed this limerick July 19, 2014
ReplyDeleteGail’s Awesome Balloon Ride
Before the collapse of the grid,
Gail showed folks what their eyes had hid;
If that did no good,
Why then, nothing would--
Oh wait, that’s right, nothing did.
