I was speaking yesterday with my niece, who graduated, last week, from Catholic University. Surprisingly (to me, at least), she had not connected the dots between AGW and the increasing incidents of increasingly severe weather. While she was well aware of climate change - as a current events topic, perhaps - she was oblivious to the notion that there were real, observable, and measurable consequences to activities that pump more moisture and energy into the atmosphere. That and the vaporheads on teevee this morning were explaining the cause of the Joplin twister as the result of La Nina and an especially strong Jet Stream . . . without bothering to even consider what the root cause of those phenomena might be . . .
