It's Naomi Oreskes talking about her book, The Merchants of Doubt. Even though I know a fair bit of the history, and the connections between the tobacco industry and climate change deniers, it was really interesting to see how right-wing war-mongers deliberately demonized environmentalists by labeling them as socialists, in order to preserve "free" markets with minimal government regulation.
It's like there is a war between rational people and rapid ideologues like Palin and Cheney that is going to get even uglier until it's all over.
OMG! I could not be any sadder watching this. My heart is breaking. We are watching these beautful animals go extinct...right before our eyes...

Evangelicals are calling Environmentalists "The Green Dragon"and note that The Green Dragon is against "Prosperity" So there ya have it, Polar bears, trees, whales & the people that advocate for them.... get in the way of big corps making $$ and must be stopped!

What we need to understand is that the same ultimate sources of funding for these groups also fund misdirecting causes on the left, with the goal of owning the entirety of the spectrum of the argument, and ultimately engendering an outcome that suits their purposes.
Here's some more on Dominionist Theology. Extremely unnerving material. Excuse the website, I'm not sure what it is, but the material on that page squares with Hedges account, it just goes into more detail. The Plutocracy/Corporatocracy is behind this garbage.
