This is, of course, nonsense. The trees are weakened by exposure to toxic greenhouse gases, which interferes with their ability to photosynthesize, and produce chlorophyll.

The Park Service acknowledges that many of the famous cherry trees split, lost branches, and fell over, but they say the trees are "resilient" and will be fine. Of course they say that! Can you imagine if they told the truth, and then the tourist bureau would go berserk!
