Occupy Wall Street Evicted

Mayor Bloomberg has announced that tomorrow, Friday, Zuccotti Park will be "cleaned".  As the letter from Brookfield Properties to Police Commissioner Kelly makes clear, there really is no path for the occupation to continue and be in compliance with their concerns for safety, public access, and sanitation.  So I take this to be a permanent "cleansing", or at least, an attempt at it.  I highly recommend everyone go to this facebook page, BankTransferDay, and join the movement to move your money - that's something the police can't stop.

Update:  Contact Mayor Bloomberg and demand that OWS continue unimpeded - If he's so worried about sanitation he should allow port-a-potties and dumpsters!

  1. Our leaders and the billionaires that pull their strings fear the truth about the concept of money more than anything. Money and the lies told about it are their source of power. If you want to really watch them squirm and change the tone of the conversation very quickly, then use this poster widely. They fear me for other reasons...

  2. Ha, I saw this yesterday in a comment over at DeclineoftheEmpire.com:

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, pull back the curtains, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater." - Frank Zappa

  3. Here's the reality:

Everyone in America is ALWAYS breaking some law or other, at all times, but not in all jurisdictions.

When the cops come with their clubs to beat back the peaceful demonstration and clear the park, it's because the CITY is selectively enforcing laws. Here to benefit the residents and tenants of Wall St.

If 50,000 people show up for the eviction and surround the police from the rear, it may prove quite interesting.

    We live in interesting times.
