If we get past ancient tales that have us believe we are the only life in the Universe, we might ask ourselves why there has been no contact with alien worlds.
Simply stated, as life advances, it eventually (sooner rather than later) kills itself off. The Drake Equation & Fermi Paradox shed light on this theory. I only recently learned of such theories and it has hit me like a ton of bricks. How sad we can't sustain life on our precious planet. Sadder still, no other worlds seem to sustain life either.

Oh, I don't know, Dion..."This planet is obviously being used as an insane asylum by other planets." — George Bernard Shaw
ReplyDeleteAnd hey thanks for THe drake Equation & Fermi Paradox, my sources for dread, misery, and terror were kind of getting slim!
