Bitch Slapped

I have to thank Doomstead Diary for reminding me of this scene, which rather perfectly exemplifies the experience of being a doomer!  Well and it's funny, also too!

Hi. My article is up. Any luck contacting that scientist?

How can I read your article??

I called Dr. Muir and left a voicemail last week, haven't heard back...on the other hand, check the sitemeter - traffic is way up! About half is palingates and only tangentially related - but the rest is interesting...Georgia Pacific (owned by the Koch brothers!!)...

If the kriminal koches are looking they must see us as a threat. Why not try to contact the scientists in the other links?

Climate models should take into account the fact that the world’s forests are in decline. Put another way, they are not growing – they are dying. They are no longer carbon sinks – they are carbon emitters. The vegetative cover is shrinking because the background level of tropospheric ozone is inexorably rising, and ozone is highly toxic to plants.
Just sayin’!

[Response: Badly wrong on several accounts.
Please do your homework before making public statements like this.--Jim]

Jim, give me the “several accounts” on which I am wrong, please. Because I HAVE been doing my homework, and there isn’t a single statement I made there that isn’t verifiable.
Maybe YOU should do some homework?
Or at least be specific about what you dispute!

(Jim is Jim Bouldin, a forestry hack who is almost illiterate, see http://www.plantsciences.ucdavis.edu/bouldin/pdf/Bouldin_AnnualReport_2008.pdf)

Good ol' movie!

Happy Monday! If you haven't heard, the housing market is frozen. Everyone, this might be the Pearl Harbor event for climate change. All of those suburban homes with mortgages are not sellable until someone comes up with the mortgage documents. Millions of homes affected.

The best summation of the purpose of this blog is on the page linked to at the top, "Basic Premise" Beyond that, I post random thoughts and musings from Wit's End, a little farm I share with a dog, 2 indoor cats and 2 barn cats, a flying squirrel (Whippersnapper), Sun Conure (Bird), African Grey (Simon), a dozen chickens, a pair of peafowl, sundry koi in the pond, and various wildlife visitors, most notoriously among them, a voracious fox.
