I'll post on it later, but meanwhile, check it out - I've been writing back and forth with the author and he has exactly your sentiments - can't understand why people don't see it: http://www.junglediary.com/are-the-trees-dying/Gail Zawackihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01800944469843206253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5549306427964459740.post-12082410302195770282013-04-19T14:23:27.395-04:002013-04-19T14:23:27.395-04:00It's hard to imagine those Big Leaf Maple poac...It's hard to imagine those Big Leaf Maple poachers will have product for many more years. From what I've observed the Maples are probably doing the worst of any tree around this area, with the exception of maybe the alder.

Douglas firs and Hemlocks on the other hand are doing a great job of hanging and on helping to maintain the illusion that all is still normal.

I feel like April and May are generally when things tend to look best and the decline is least obvious. By June/July a lot of signs of damage are becoming visible on the foliage and by August/September things generally start looking terrible. By then of course people just assume its fall color (way too early of course, but that doesn't mean anything to them). Then it's back to winter where no one notices anyways due to lack of leaves on the trees. And the cycle begins again in april.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5549306427964459740.post-18421640395227848472013-04-18T18:46:33.907-04:002013-04-18T18:46:33.907-04:00A long run-on sentence...good one, Catman! All sorts of plants are stunted.Gail Zawackihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01800944469843206253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5549306427964459740.post-892072068318278142013-04-18T18:18:01.322-04:002013-04-18T18:18:01.322-04:00Talk about a run-on sentence!
