They're eating 25 lbs. per month like they used to in February. Sunflower seeds are their emergency food; they'd rather eat insects but there aren't many.<br /><br />Feed all of the nature around you. I think maybe we Americans need to stop burying garbage and instead put it out in the open for the wild creatures to eat. A doe dropped by today with one fawn instead of usual two. Raccoons, once plentiful, have all but disappeared. Cankers grow on the leaves of a basswood tree.
